The roots of Contaminant go back to autumn 2006, when founder Andreas Putz (Buz) decided to start a band and quickly attracted potential members. Johannes Zrenner (Jones) joined the project with the same dream as his colleague which was a good start for the group “Avengers of Death.” They developed a new style which was darker and more powerful than anything they have ever done before, especially with symphonic and electronic elements which characterize their unique art today. During this period they produced the demo tape “Crusade to Hell” in 2007. The Year 2008 proved to be a turning point when the artists changed the name of the band into “Contaminant”. At the end of this year they produced the self-released album “Masquerade” with the vocalist “Fabian Schreiber”.
After the year 2009 the band was obliged to make a break because of personal reasons. At the end of 2010 Johannes Zrenner (Jones) left the band, which was an essential change. In 2011 there was a new beginning when Andreas Putz set a new membership. “Fabian Schreiber” came back as a strong Vocalist and another musician, ”Stefan Röhl”, who was not unknown in the past takes the bass and synthie-programming position. In February 2011 the search was over as guitarist “Johannes Hößl”
